Call for Nominations: Journal of the ACM Editor-in-Chief


The term of Prabhakar Raghavan, the current Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the ACM, will end soon. A search committee has been formed to identify candidates for the next Editor-in-Chief and to recommend the most suitable one to the ACM Publications Board.

The Position

The position is for a term (renewable once) of three years. The duties of ACM Editors-in-Chief are summarized in this document. Further information can be found in ACM Publications Policies.

Qualifications

Candidates should be established leading researchers in areas related to computer science, broadly conceived, as described in the JACM Charter. The candidate should have had extensive experience serving on conference program committees and journal editorial boards.

Nomination Process

Nominations should be sent by email to Lance Fortnow.


To nominate a colleague, send a summary of candidate's relevant research contributions and editorial qualifications. The committee also accepts self-nominations, which should include a current curriculum vitae and a brief (one page) statement of the candidate's vision for JACM.


Deadline


The committee will start evaluating candidates after July 1, 2009. Nominations arriving after this date are not guaranteed to be considered.
